Victoria Beckham has angered some of her fans in the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community after plugging an expensive £90 t-shirt in aid of gay pride.
The 46-year-old former Spice Girl took to social media on Friday to show off her simple white t-shirt that featured letters in rainbow colours.
The logo on the front of the t-shirt reads: “Listen Without Prejudice” and is a reference to the 1990 George Michael album of the same name.
Vicky revealed that the t-shirt was a collaboration with charity AKT which hopes to create “safe homes and better futures for lgbtq+ young people” with proceeds from sales benefiting the charity.
Striking a pose for social media, Victoria wrote alongside her selfie: “I’ve always felt a deep connection to the LGBTQ+ community and am proud to help support their continued message of positive change and inclusivity.
“My Pride t-shirt this year features the name of @georgemofficial’s iconic 1990 album, released exactly 30 years ago and used with the blessing of his estate.
“He was a true icon and the album, his music, and this t-shirt are reminders to always be kind and listen to one another - something I wholeheartedly believe in and a message I live by every day.”
She added: “25% of all sales of this shirt will go to @aktcharity and its work to combat LGBTQ+ youth homelessness in the UK. kisses xx VB.”
Members of the LGBTQ+ community turned on the star, blasting her for plugging a t-shirt that costs £90 but only sends 25% of proceeds to charity.
